The main idea
The audience should be able to see and hear me clearly and easily. The higher the quality of sound and lighting, the more that people will benefit from my presentation. I understand that sometimes it is necessary to work with budgetary and technical limitations. If you have any questions, please call me at 800-820-8971 or email me at David@DavidRoche.com.
Lights
Minimum requirement is a basic wash about 12 feet deep and 15 feet wide, warmly lit. A sign language interpreter can be placed downstage left or right in his or her own narrow lighting.
Lighting cues (if used)
- Beginning of show – Start in darkness, bring lighting up to the full basic wash over 60 seconds.
- End of show – Fade to black. Bring up full lights for applause.
Sound
There are no sound cues during the show.
Microphone
I prefer to use a wireless lavaliere or headset microphone.
Set
One small table, nice looking or with a tablecloth, with a vase of flowers (real or artificial) and a small bottle of water.
One chair, preferably a wooden dining chair.
Setup
I need five minutes to spike the table and chair.
Tech time
Fifteen minutes of tech time is usually sufficient to set lighting and sound levels.
Scripts
I can provide scripts for a sign language interpreter and for the Stage Manager. Please let me know in advance if you need them.
